The Mechanic.
Monday, January 31, 2011 || 11:50 AM

I watched #TheMechanic yesterday @ The Premiere Gandaria XXI :)
First im a fan of Mr. Statham, so i’ll be bias when it comes to his movies. One thing you’ll expect when watching his movies is that you know he’s going to be the badass and this movie which is a 1970’s remake is no exemption, from start to finish the brutal killings doesn’t stop and its a fun thing to watch seeing the bad guys get what they deserve.
now on to Mr. Ben Foster with the calmness of statham’s character comes the brash, shoot first ask questions later attitude which is a good thing as it balances each character. and ben foster played the role pretty well.
all in all the mechanic is guys movie you get guns, sex, explosions, and bad guys getting their heads blown-off. nothing fancy just a straight up action movie.

You know, I’ve been thinking. Everything is… just comes together. It’s me. I chose this. I chose all this. This rock… this rock has been waiting for me my entire life. It’s entire life, ever since it was a bit of meteorite a million, billion years ago. In space. It’s been waiting, to come here. Right, right here. I’ve been moving towards it my entire life. The minute I was born, every breath that I’ve taken, every action has been leading me to this crack on the out surface.
It was insaneeeee!!! Lotsa blood in this movie. Ceritanya sih aga ngebosenin menurut gw, tapi karena based on true story jdnya penasaran jg nonton ini sampai habis :) Buat yang ga suka darah mending jgn ntn deh. Sadisss -__-

The Tourist.
Saturday, January 08, 2011 || 4:51 AM

The Tourist is a decent movie, but also something of a hollow one. There is a mystery strung throughout, and the resolution is a bit off. I won’t spoil it, but it is not very satisfying, and that is ignoring the numerous logical problems it presents. Of course logic is not something this film thrives on, so that won’t be much of an issue.
The best part of this film is that it is filmed in Venice, and the city looks beautiful. In fact, the entire movie is filmed exceptionally well, and there is a crisp and vibrant feel that almost covers up the lack of chemistry between Depp and Jolie, the massive plot holes and the inconsistent characterizations.

I enjoyed it for the most part, eventhough there’s so many “twists” until the very end that kept making me go “eh??” LOL! =)
Unexpected ending. 7/10

Going the Distance.
Tuesday, December 14, 2010 || 8:09 PM

The two of them — Garrett and Erin, played by Justin Long and Drew Barrymore — live in a universe of quietly lowered romantic and professional expectations. He works in the music industry, she is an aspiring newspaper reporter, and the movie acknowledges the grim circumstances prevailing in both of their chosen fields without being too apocalyptic about it. Garrett has a low-level job at a record label, Erin is an intern at a New York daily before heading back to finish graduate school in California (where she lives with her sister and waits on tables for money), and both of their ambitions are hedged by a sense of diminished possibility.

Let's call this as a coincidence. I watched "Going The Distance" last night. Thatt was.. Entertaining. Silly. Funny. Cute. Romantic. anddd.. it makes me think (again and again) that having a-long-distance-relationship is needed something extra. Ohh! In fact, not only something extra but a lot of extras. I've never had LDR before, but i'm close to someone who's far away now. you know.. when i said "good afternoon!" he said "good evening.." when i'm about to sleep, he just finished his lunch.. Distance's cruel! LOL. Going The Distance is easily one of the best romantic comedies in recent years.

HP & The Deathly Hallows.
Friday, November 26, 2010 || 1:57 PM

Finally! I watched Harry Potter and THE DEATHLY HALLOWS with my boyfie yesterday. Setelah menunggu kurang lebih setahun. Well, to be honest, part kali ini endingnya emang nanggung banget. Cerita di part A ini kebanyakkan tentang Harry-Ron-Hermione. Buat yang ngaku sebagai fans HP sih better tetep ntn. I LOVED seeing the relationship of Harry, Ron, and Hermione and how it was affected by the dark times. The anticipation of that scene made me freak out. All in all, DH was definitely my favorite HP movie to date, and I am SO excited for Part 2! :D

Wallstreet 2.
Thursday, November 04, 2010 || 11:31 PM
money never sleeps. ♥♥Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, directed by Oliver Stone, provides a fantasized feel for the fast paced, money fueled force behind the wealth of a nation. Michael Douglas reprises his 1987 Oscar-winning role as the character Gordon Gekko alongside Jake Moore (Shia LeBeouf). Jake serves as a suitable character replacement for the character Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen) in the first installment of Wall Street.
Well, all in all it was a pretty good film uber long but hey, Shia LaBeouf was looking pretttty dapper in his suit and tie living the millionaire life style *sigh*

The Switch.
Tuesday, October 26, 2010 || 8:25 PM

Wally (Jason Bateman) is best friends with Kassie (Jennifer Aniston). She decides to get herself pregnant using the seed of a stranger. He’s not sure how he feels about this, because he’s not sure how he feels about her. Said stranger is Roland (Patrick Wilson), Wally’s opposite in pretty much everyway. At her Insemination Party, Wally gets drunk and replaces Roland’s seed with his own. Further complications ensue.
It’s a light-hearted romantic-comedy, with a quite simple plot, no twists, a very happy ending and more emphasis on the romantic, but it’s a movie that will make you smile by the time you finish. Recommended for sure.
“Look at them. Always running around, always rushing, always late. I guess that’s why they call it the human race.”

I just got home from Gandaria City. What a Sunday. I watched Step Up 3 with my sisters and their boyfriend. Yeah. Again and Again. LOL! As for Step Up 3, the last dance battle was f*cking epic. Everything about the movie was inspiring and made me feel that I don’t have to go by what others expect; just be yourself, follow your heart, and do what makes you happy. RICK MALAMBRI WAS SO FREAKING HAWTTT! My Gosh!! Haha. This movie gets a 4.5/5 from me :D

Aftershock.
Thursday, October 07, 2010 || 6:25 AM

“23 seconds. 32 years” is the mysterious tagline printed on movie posters across China.
Adapted from Zhang Ling’s novel “Aftershock,” the Feng Xiaogang-directed movie of the same name tells the story of a family torn apart by the 1976 Tangshan earthquake that killed at least 240,000.
When both her son and daughter are stuck beneath the same cement slab, Yuan Ni must choose whom to save. Her agonizing decision would shape the fate of her family for 32 years to come.
Although the technical reproduction of the 23-second earthquake is epic in itself, the vivid portrayal of the repercussions of the disaster are even more memorable.
Definitely worth to watch! It was so touching :')

The problem was they used waaaay too much slow motion. (¬.¬) At times i felt like I was watching the Matrix rather than Resident Evil. haha.

Letters to You.
Wednesday, September 15, 2010 || 7:01 PM
At the house of Juliet Capulet. Young lovers from all over the world write letters about their love to Juliet with each and every note stuck to the wall with chewing gum. Many believe that writing on that place will make their love everlasting. As of 2010, more than 5,000 letters are received annually, three quarters of which are from women. The letters are read and replied to by local volunteers, organized since the 1980s in the Club di Giulietta (Juliet Club), which is financed by the City of Verona.
” ‘What’ and ‘if’ two words as nonthreatening
as words come. But put
them together side-by-side and they
have the power to haunt you for the
rest of your life: ‘What if?’…”
“I don’t know how your story ended.
But I know that if what you felt
then was love - true love - then
it’s never too late. If it was true
then it why wouldn’t it be true
now? You need only the courage to
follow your heart…”
“I don’t know what a love like that
feels like… a love to leave loved
ones for, a love to cross oceans
for… but I’d like to believe if I
ever felt it. I’d have the courage
to seize it. I hope you had the
courage to seize it, Claire. And if
you didn’t, I hope one day that you
will.”
- Sophie, Letters to Juliet
I just finished watchin this movie - Ya, i just got back from Bandung. I really had fun for last 3 days - Anyway, this movie's one of my favorite. It was simple, cute and romantic. I don't know, it made me sad indeed, but i enjoyed it. Amanda Seyfried and Christopher Egan played well. They were cute!
